The Significance of the Great Seal of England
All royal documents at this period were authenticated by the great seal. So, you know, for that to hang beneath Magna Carta was the strongest possible indication that the king had agreed to it. I think that it does have a significance, though, in the great seal,. of course, is a very, very impressive looking object, this sort of size.
