The Importance of Free Will

I remember you told me, and Eric Wesley, who's now a general to, said that in the beginning, people walking up to you saying, okay, now that you're here, what do I do? Everybody wanted permission to do everything. And you're trying to say, these people don't know what it's like to have any type of free will. And you did. So that clearly, I would say is a lesson learned from me. For me, is that we Americans really underestimate people who have lived under tyranny,. Whether it be the old Soviet regime or Saddam regime. That just saps people's will. It saps their independent thought. It sapping their vision
