Is There a Working Definition of Leftism?

The left is, is made up of people who interesting. They are hostile to the establishment and they want no state at all. Leftism used to mean a lot of things that did not use to mean a leftism: progressivism, liberal, democrats,. But do you have a work in definition of leftism for this class? I'm always trying to find the issue where leftiss and libertarians will agree, like gun controls races. And i'm trying to shake it out a bit and say, maybe we don't really belong here.
