Bob James had the coolest, one of the most iconic jazz labels of all time with tap and Z records. I wanted Joe Jorgensen to be my Rudy Van Gelder because he was a very unique engineer for Creteller. And in his experience of doing studio work in New York, Joe was the guy that I thought had the most interesting years we could collaborate on coming up with our own sound.
