I'm not completely sure what a mature idea of God might be. The idea that it emerges from Psalms may come close, but I'd be interested in your opinion. We are designed by natural selection to think we're more important than everyone else. But there are all these kinds of unconscious bias we have toward our own interests. If you get beyond that, you're making moral progress.
