Cable street didn't stop fashism in the east end. But it did have two major consequences, which i think are really important. The introduction of the public order act was introduced a in 19 36 and became law from the beginning of 37. Banned political uniforms was a major psychological blow to the b u f. More damaging still was the withdrawal of the italian subsidy.
