We spend far below what the best performing countries like the Nordic spend. Sweden spends nearly three times as much in terms of public money on early year services than we do. We asked the Department for Education at Westminster if they would come on the podcast and they declined. Over the past five years, we've invested more than £20 billion to support families with the cost of childcare.
