In the 1950s and 1960s higher education became a big thing in terms of government policy. My guess is that the median IQ of a college graduate keeps dropping as you keep adding more and more people into college. The mediocre people compete by raising extraneous issues those extraneous issues happen to lead to more mediocrity.
