What Is Assertive Language?

Anne Dixon has spent over four decades teaching the art of assertive communication. Emma spoke to anne earlier this week, and started by asking her to define what assertive language is. What it is is clear, direct communication. And it is not aggressive. It's very much as an equal. So you approach somebody with your needs as an equal to somebody else's needs. And soy does mean you to take responsibility for what you want and be clear about it.
