Is Hermine Doing Something Mean to Hagarad?

Question is based on an interaction between hermine and hagarad. Hermine trying to get more information out of hagared about the spells that are protecting the sorcerer's stone. And then a couple of sentences later, we read, haggard's chest swelled. I'm wondering if you think that hermine is doing something mean to haggard. His ego is puffed up by this moment.
