Christmas is a story that can be politicized in all kinds of different ways. A Methodist church in California has done its nativity scene up in a particularly, in a border region where they're very concerned about questions around ice and apprehending children. It's obviously also a profound mythic story or ending Christianity, but then also gets deployed to reflect on how families in need of help today are or are not given respite and refuge.
