The Disillusionment of Owen and Sassoon
Tolkien saw the war as a fight between good and evil. He wasn't an imperialist, by the way, but as Britain standing up for smaller nations. Many other writers who aren't famous felt that the writers of disillusion had gone too far. They had kind of censored the other side of things with ironising them.
