How Much Did Owners Have Over What They Could Do?
In herculaneum you were much more tied as to what you could do. That is quite sad, really, to say,. i was really excited by the location of toilets and kitchens when i was doing my research. But that was where actually the complete ingenuity of roman architecture comes to the fore. You build according to your topography. Cespits work. Some places, cespits don't work, other places. Build according to what works. How much did owners have over what they could do, and how much was it? It's a really interesting question.
