In 61, you joined the irish guards in 19 59. What was your reaction to building the burly wall in august 61? By 61, i was a lieutenant, a platoon commander of a reconnaissance platoon in an armod brigade,. The fourth guard's armed brigade, placed just outside dusldorf in hoberad. And we were, of course, very much aware what was going on. But it's interesting to me now to remember that there was no change in our state of alert, and there was nochange in our training pattern.
