The Grateful Dead's Legacy

In the early 90s, the group discovered that there was money to be made from their old live recordings. They started releasing albums of classic old shows and were astonished to find that they sold in phenomenal amounts. In 2006, the Grateful Dead leased all of intellectual property to Rhino Records for $30 million for a 10-year lease. The band tried some interesting things with the Archive material even before Garcia's death.
