New York City Pay Range Transparency Law
This month New York City became the biggest job market in the United States to require employers to list pay ranges in job ads. Some are listing maximum pay figures that are more than double the minimum pay for the job. For example, a trauma surgeon in the Mount Sinai health system could earn anywhere between $384,000 to $800,000 says a hospital's job ad. An attacks executive at Price Waterhouse Cooper could make $158,000 or nearly triple that.
