Meat in a Mince Pie

The original mince meat pies were usually beef, mutton or veal. The mediaeval and tudor ones are very hefty. You get a real complexity of flavour that you do not get with modern mince meat. And i still add meat to my mince meat most of the time when i make it to day. I find that adding bit of meat does add an amazing back note.
