The Mongols are good at making the communications across their empire work because they've got something called the fast horse system. The Near East is a particular point of contention because it's claimed by the Jokids dynasty that's the dynasty named after Ching'a's Khan's son Jokky he claims that for himself but it's also claimed by another Mongol ruler called Hooligu and the two initially have a fair amount of rivalry with each other. And so what the Mongols do is they begin that they the major sort of ruling dynasties are given areas of the Mongol Empire as Ulu which is sort of areas under their jurisdiction.
