The Role of Non-Surgical Management in Symptomatic Dysplasia
Hip arthroscopy is contraindicated in the setting of moderate to severe dysplasia. Periacetabular osteotomy provides highland cartilage coverage and preserved integrity of the posterior column, which allows patients to weight bear as tolerated postoperatively. Total hip arthroplasty is the treatment of choice for patients with end-stage osteoarthritis secondary to dysplasia; these patients need small acid-tabular components.
