Professor Jessica Rawson's new book explores 3,000 years of Chinese history through a dozen burials spread across time and space. She says one way we can come face to face with ancient China is through its tombs. The only sort of equivalent would be an Egyptian pyramid, but in an Egyptian pyramid very many of them contain paintings or models.
