The Decline of the Humanities

Sally Kohn: I spent some time as a plus one in an English department about four years at Duke during the 90s. She says it seemed like literature, there was a lot of pressure to teach literature in a very different way. Kohn: It would be easy for me who critiques theoretical and politically-driven approaches to say this is why students are abandoning the humanities. But she doesn't actually think that's the main reason they are abandoning them.
