Film Review - Is the Kingdom of God Within You?
Ridley scott identifies as an atheist, but he engages with these stories and really engages with the world view of the characters within the stories. There's a stronge critique of religion and certain elements of religion in the film, but it also isn't stepping all the way back from that world view. I do think there's a bif like modern revisionism going on with sore as to how it portrays philosophies which probably wouldn't be as nuanced at that time as they are presented here.
