The Illuminati's Breakaway From the Freemasons
By 1782, the Illuminati had over 300 members and only 20 of them were young students from Ingostat. It was thanks to Kneiga's aggressive and successful marketing tactics that the Illuminati finally had enough clout to break away from the Freemasons. In an open letter to the Grand Lodge of Royal York in England, Vice-Haupt and his lodge denounced Royal York for failing to provide adequate information pertaining to sacred rituals. So in June of 1782, Lodge Theodore became the first Illuminati Lodge.
