The best way to break a spell of awkward silence with your friends, is to ask this simple question: what would you give up for a billion dollars? That’s billion with a ‘b’. And this question takes many forms: would you give up your arms, or your legs, or vision or your relationship, and the toughest of them all, would you give up your dog for a billion dollars? This is a simple rhetorical tool to instill thoughtful humorous banter with your buddies, but what happens when a rhetorical tool is no longer a game? What happens when this question becomes a very real dilemma in somebody’s life?

A princess in Dubai faced this dilemma. Not posed by her friends, but by her very life’s circumstances. The question was: would you give up your freedom for a billion dollars?
