The Pros and Cons of PMD Eyes
With p m d eyes, the patient has to coordinate pressing down on the canister and inhaling at the same time. Spacers are basically just a big reservoir that you add on to the end of a pressurized meter dose inhaler. A valved holding chamber is basically just a spacer with a one waye valve inside. The main reason that we use them is that they slow down the drug and reduce the particle size.
