It comes as a great shock around the age of five or six or seven, to discover the flag to which you have pledged to ledn ias, not pledged allegiance to you. He spent a lot of time trying to make an emotional, intellectual argument for why it's necessary to keep reminding white people of psychic toll of recess. The disaffection, demoralization, begins there and accelerates accelerating throughout a whole lifetime.
