Michael Wolraich: Love between two people is indeed a great work and that work is often not easy. He says it's hard to stay awake to our self-deceptions and unconscious expectations, even less so when it involves someone else who has misperceptions of his or her own. "I love these two lines by the poet Antonio Machado, who says, you know, the golden bees are making white combs and sweet honey from all my old failures," he writes.
