Pensions are structured where you, the employee will have to put in six % of your pay towards the pension. A lot of people skip that step because it's automatically coming out of your pay check. Delta pilots were offered tremendous pensions. The problem was they were well above what the p b g c would u guarantee. When delta took away those pensions, they were left holding the bag in a large part.
