The Differential Diagnostic Criteria for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
Findings on a three-phase bone scan in the setting of complex regional pain syndrome is increased uptake in all phases. Thermography is used to quantify temperature differences between the limbs, however this has questionable utility. An EMG slash nerve conduction velocity may demonstrate slowing in a known nerve distribution for complex regional pain syndrome type 2 in the forearm. Keep in mind that early diagnosis is critical for a successful outcome.
