How data scientists can actually quantify their value is a tricky topic depending on what org you're at. I think there are a few cases from like really direct to indirect and then like the necessary skill sets for each. In those cases, two common ways that you can still help make impact or at least make visible impact is to help measure whether things are going well or not as a starting point.
