We often describe the new right coalition as one that unites big business and the religious right. But is this anti-inflation coalition in a sense the material basis for the new right? Yeah, that's a really interesting question, a big one that gets at the, you know, the big questions of historical materialism. The work of someone like Melinda Cooper reminds us that you shouldn't make a clean separation between the kind of the cultural conservatism and the economic base.
