New law requires foreign companies to open local offices in Russia. Data localization also falls into this broad category where russia tries to regulate international companies and intrude t it has more control over what they do. I know that data regulation is becoming increasing er prominent in other countries but again, its this approach to insuring that your sovereignty is also relevant in indivigital space.
