The Importance of Being in Time

I really embraced the liberal arts which is not a thing in Australia as much as it's still an institution in America. I was heavily into sort of ecological politics, environmentalism sustainability. And then thinking, I also really want to help society restructure towards sustainability. Those two things kind of collided. But they collided in an unfortunate way in that if you spend a lot of time reading theory with the big T, a big French T at the front of it. All your like theory philosophy friends were just like, that's not what you do. Hang out in capitalism. We read this stuff and we just take extraordinary visceral pleasure in the way we write. And that's what we do.
