Killing Kathleen and Becky
Kathleen and Becky's cause of death was strangulation so they were likely brain dead after the strangulation. Autopsy showed that their hearts were still pumping blood at the time of their throat injuries. Kathleen also had at least one marking that appeared to be a defensive wound which could have either happened while she was grabbing at the rope around her neck or if she came in contact with the knife before she was strangled. Investigators believe this was the type of rope used to kill both women.
