The Doctrine of Adoption Helps Us Understand God's Commandments

Many Christians, maybe some of you here today, struggle with obedience. And part of the reason why we as people struggle so much with God's commands and His laws is because we've been formed in modern Western culture that tells us no one should tell you how to live or what to do. But listen, the doctrine of adoption helps us here because if you understand that He loves you because you're His, then you begin to realize that His law, His commands, are not restrictions on your freedom. They're the foundation for it.
