Is the Electoral Count Act a Central Focus of Democrat or Republican Party?

In 20 20 we had a particularly live controversy about electoral votes and who were appropriate slates of electors being sent by the proper officials or some other group of lawmakers. Now, it doesn't seem that, at least so far, the electoral count act is a central focus of either democrats or republicans. We had certainly seen pressure placed on vice president mike pence to take a more active role. That's a diplomatic way of putting it, very diplomatic,. But the argument coming from some of president trump's supporters was that those vice presidents hadn't realized how much power they had.
