History Wars - What's Going on This Year?

The year kicked off with the then secretary of state for housing, communities and local government, robert genrick introducing legislation to protect historic monuments. This comes on the back of the edward coulson statue being taken down in bristol. So i suppose it's been all about whether statues stay where they are, get taken down. And if statues do stay, what that then says about the kind of history that's being represented?
