A uli edelstein, who was the minister of health for 13 months at the height of the covid pandemic, and before that, the speaker of the kneset a during most of the nitana. Etdelstein said he felt he had to try to unseat his former political patron because the current government is simply dangerous for israel. In fact, a pole taken after his announcement found that 86 % of likud voters said that they would support nitana in party primaries, compared with only six percent who prefer edelstein.
