Is There a Way to Override a Late Fee?
Carolyn and George: I have a Costco City credit card. While I pay my balance in full each month, I signed up with City for a minimum balance auto pay just in case to avoid paying a ridiculous late fee. If their purchases pass the statement date, they charge the $35 auto pay unless I pay exactly on the due date before 5 p.m. Can anything be done to circumvent or stop this process? They say you can cancel it as long as you're doing it before they would take the payment out.
