Nita Mayo's Disappearance
64-year-old Nita Mayo was last seen in Hawthorne, Nevada. She told a friend that she was going to spend the day shopping just across the Sonora Pass on State Route 108 in California. There's only one unconfirmed sighting of Nita at a woman's apparel store in Strawberry,. The most likely places are Sonora, California, a small resort town nestled between Yosemite and Stanislaus National Forest. Her children have all said that Nita wasn't a hiker and was terribly afraid of heights.
