The Women's Suffrage Movement in India

The women suffrage movement across weld has always been about more than just literally getting the vote. So in the indian context, what kind of issues were women dealing that they thought the vote might help with? And also, up until 19 forty seven, just the key issue that affected women and men in india was a desire to have independence. But it was this really weird paradox, because they weren't totally independent, so they could have a vote, but they were still very limited in what that vote actually meant.
