The Perfectors of American Democracy

The most ardent defenders of democracy have been those who have had to fight to have it from the beginning, and that we see that role again and again with that. We can't keep expecting black americans to overcome every obstacle to save this democracy. It's astounding to me when people say that this ject is not patriotic one. I don'tthink it's the role of journalists to produce works at's patriotic or not. But i don't think you can read this and not come away with the understanding that the most ardent defender of democracy has been those who've had to fight for it in the past.
