How to Disclose a Death in Your Home

Jay Parini: If you're selling a home where somebody died in the home, disclose because then the seller or the buyer can't come back later and say, you didn't tell me. California requires a sensational death to be disclosed within three years. Colorado has no such disclosure requirements because it unfairly stigmatizes the property, which I think is really awful. As an investor, would you buy a haunted house? And I'm all over that. Like, I would Airbnb the crap out of a haunted house.
