Movie Review - 1917

1917 is a big screen spectacle that does a lot of starkly beautiful you know ironically beautiful things with the equipment of war. It's all shot in this very beautiful way that yet doesn't seem as set aside. There were some things about it that deviate from the novel and also from the 1930 best picture winning early sound adaptation of the novel that I don't think really belonged there. For one thing those characters were not real characters like Guy with a bushy mustache shaking his fist in a board room about war we didn't know who they were.
