Kushman: We all make minor mistakes that can have harmful effects. He says our first response is often to make an excuse, like I just had bad luck. Kushman rethought his response and realized it was important not to say these are circumstances beyond my control. "If I want to create better outcomes, I can take responsibility for that," he says.
