How to Handle Skeptics in the World of Trend Following
The vast majority of market participants are still in an orientation that's more maybe value or fundamentals or buy and hold. When markets moved CTA's make money or trend followers make money, so I don't see why anybody could disagree with it. If you knew that markets were not going to go anywhere for 20 years I don't think you probably want to be a trend follower. You can't make much money if the market isn't going to move anything because you've got to buy one price and sell at a higher price but if the market doesn't move at all you aren't going to get a higher or lower priceyou're going to get the same price. There will be more volatility
