When Fidel Castro was coming up through the scene, he was a young man from a pretty well-to-do middle-class family. His politics at this time were nationalist and if anything somewhat right of center, quite consistently. He actually, his Jesuitical streak was extremely strong in terms of how he thought about the world morally and ethically. And really growing up also, he was not at all left wing. But it was a real mistake to think that they ever agreed with each other for their entire lives.
