The Synchronicity of Science Fiction

In a work of art all the elements have to work together so work to vart in a sense always depict the world as profoundly synchronic even if the characters and even if the narrator doesn't believe in such things as synchronicity the story works because precisely these characters and themes and the setting and the mood and the whole thing works together to form a kind of unit which makes it on some level a kind of enchanted universe a kind of fantasy. I wonder how much of that no matter what type of fiction you're reading might rub off on someone who is who is particularly deeply into storytelling, like Philip K Dick.
