The Pig Butchering Scam
Krebs on security offers a depressing follow up to warnings the fbi issued back in april about a criminal trend that's come to be known indelicately as pig butchering. The romance scam lures its victims to fraudulent crypto currency sites and then fleeces or butchers them. Losses are said to have ranged in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
