The Thumb Carpal Metacarpal Joint is a bicon cave saddle joint, and consists of four articulations. The anterior oblique or Volar Beak ligament is the primary stabilizing static restraint to subluxation of the CMC joint. Symptoms include pain, specifically pain at the base of the thumb, and the symptoms of concomitant carpal tunnel syndrome may be present.
